Open House 2020

Welcome!

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!  We are so excited to have our Lakers and their families back (no matter which of the 3 options chosen)!  In an effort to social distance our families and provide the safest environment possible we are offering our open house over the course of two evenings.  We ask that our families adhere to this schedule and be prepared to enter our building, following our district safety procedures (This will also allow for our students to be exposed and practice some of our safety mandates).

Safety Procedures

We ask that each family enters the building through the high school, middle school, or elementary entrance.  The athletic lobby entrance should not be used as a way to gain entry into the building.  The following safety procedures will be followed by everyone as they enter their respective building:

  • Each individual will step in front of our thermal thermometers to ensure that each fall within the acceptable range.  The thermometers are located at each main entrance of the district (HS, MS, and Elementary doors) Watch for the thermal thermometer to flash green before entering the building.  Should it flash red, please re-check.  (An administrator will be present to assist you through this process)

  • Prior to traveling through the building, each person is asked to apply hand sanitizer

  • Facial Covering/Mask should be worn at all times while in the building

  • 6 feet social distancing will occur at all times

  • Parents wanting to pay fees or submit lunch money are asked to do this online through our PaySchools link

  • Those needing assistance from our office staff; please respect one family at a time within our office space

Information Provided During Open House

  • Online payment for lunch

  • Computer Accounts letter

Student Chromebooks

  • This year, our 1:1 Chromebook distribution will look different than in past years.  Due to COVID-19 and the way our last school year ended, we are asking all students in Grades 5-12 to continue using the Chromebook they took home in the spring.   This will allow us to begin the school year with minimal disruption and unnecessary spread of germs.

  • Another important change is that we are expanding our take-home 1:1 program into 5th and 6th grade.  We are excited for this opportunity to allow those students and teachers enhanced online learning opportunities and flexibility.

  • The final change is that our annual Chromebook orientation will take place virtually this year instead of in-person.  Families with students entering grades 5, 6 & 7 as well as anyone brand new to Danbury will need to watch our orientation video and sign off before the start of the school year.  Details can be found here: https://bit.ly/DanburyChromebooks
