Welcome Back, Lakers!   Good evening and a warm Lakers' welcome to the upcoming school year! Can you believe it's already time to return to the bustling halls of learning? We're absolutely thrilled to embark on another exciting journey with each and every one of you.

We'd like to take a moment to spotlight a few key details that will set the tone for a fantastic school year:

Open House and Chromebook Meeting - Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 30th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, as we eagerly await your presence at our Open House event. This is a wonderful opportunity to drop off your supplies, connect with your teachers, and familiarize yourself with your classrooms.

For our students in grades 6, 9, and any newcomers to our district in grades 6-12, we have a mandatory Chromebook Orientation Meeting during Open House.  High School students will meet  at 5:30 PM in the Auditorium and Middle School students at 6:30pm. Be sure to attend this meeting, along with at least one parent, to unlock access to your Chromebook for the year ahead.  These students will receive their brand-new Chromebook at this meeting.  All other 7-12 students can pick up their Chromebook in their first period classroom either at open house or on the first day of school.

Class lists Have been posted on our exterior doors for you to find out your teacher for the year!

Kindergarten Orientation To ensure a smooth transition for our kindergarten students, we have a special event planned. Our "Back to School" transition schedule will take place prior to Open House, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Kindly refer to the Group 1 and Group 2 student placement schedule. A separate communication came in the mail assigning your child to one of the groups.

Uniform Inventory Sale The Danbury Athletic Department will be selling football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, track, and cross-country uniforms on Wednesday, August 30th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the school multipurpose room.  It is a cash only sale.  For more details, please contact the athletic department 419-798-2258.

Meet the Team-The “Meet the Team” event will take place on Wednesday, August 30th in the football stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Our athletic teams in grades 7-12 along with our marching band will be introduced that evening. 

Preschool Open House Join us on Thursday, August 31st, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, in the auditorium for our Preschool Open House.

Bus Routes Bus routes have been mailed to your homes and are also available on our website. Please review the details to ensure a seamless start to the school year.

Elementary Parent Pick Up For parents planning on daily pick-up for elementary students, we invite you to visit the elementary office during Open House. Our staff will guide you through the paperwork and introduce our new pick-up route.

Final Forms Reminder We're excited to announce that we continue to be paperless with our registrations for the 2023-24 school year! Our new data management system, Final Forms, streamlines the process and offers online enrollment, back-to-school forms, and athletic participation submissions. Make sure to update these forms annually, preferably before the school year begins.

Free and Reduced Lunch Forms Completing the free/reduced lunch forms is crucial for our district. We encourage all eligible families to take advantage of this opportunity. Completing the free/reduced lunch forms is not only important for your family, but it also plays a significant role in our district's ability to provide the best possible education and support to all our students. By taking a few moments to fill out these forms, you contribute to a broader community value that ensures every child has access to a nutritious meal, regardless of their financial circumstances.

First Day of School Mark your calendars! The first day of school for grades 6-12 is Tuesday, September 5th, starting at 7:30 AM. For grades K-5, the excitement begins at 8:30 AM.

First Day of Preschool Our littlest Lakers' first day of preschool is on Monday, September 11th.
