Focus on Learning – Literacy & Mathematics
The staff at Danbury Local Schools commits to implementing research-based strategies which guarantee that EVERY student makes a minimum of one year’s growth and student achievement in language arts and math, in each grade level, meets or exceeds 80% proficiency as measured by performance on local, district, and state assessments.
This goal will be accomplished and sustained for 3 consecutive years. (2026-2029)
Collaboration – Professional Learning Communities
Educators will collaboratively identify and unwrap essential standards in order to communicate clear learning targets (what we want students to know) and performance-based objectives (what students will be able to do) for each unit of instruction.
Performance-based objectives are visible and actively used in every classroom, in order for students to articulate what they are learning and how they will apply that learning.
The goal will be measured through evidence of practice such as classroom visits, aligned team artifacts, and informal student conversations demonstrating student understanding of what they are learning and how it applies by the end of the 2027–2028 school year.
Results Driven – Enroll, Enlist, Employ
Danbury staff will ensure that every student has yearly experiences and continuous exposure in the areas of college, career, or service learning to build an individualized plan with the outcome of enrollment, enlistment, or employment upon graduation.
This goal will be sustained through the end of the 2028-2029 school year.
