Tech News

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

A few simple habits can help keep your family safe online:
  • Pause before clicking. Be cautious with unexpected links, attachments, and messages—even when they appear to come from someone you know.
  • Protect your accounts. Use a different password for each account and turn on two-step verification when available. Never share verification codes.
  • Keep devices updated. Install updates on phones, computers, and tablets.
  • Talk with your children. Remind them to protect personal information and tell a trusted adult if something online seems suspicious or makes them uncomfortable.
If a message claiming to be from the school seems unusual, contact us through a familiar phone number or email address to verify it.

Celebrating our Lakers

Music Department Updates

Danbury Laker Band Makes History with Highest Score Ever

The Danbury Laker Band made history this past weekend at Avon Lake High School, earning a score of 72.4 on October 10. This is the highest score in the history of the Danbury Laker Band program! In addition to reaching this historic milestone, every judge awarded the band an overall Rating II - Excellent, recognizing the ensemble's hard work and continued growth throughout the marching band season. This achievement represents more than just a number on a scoreboard. Through countless hours of rehearsal, individual commitment, and teamwork. Students challenged themselves, supported one another, and strived for excellence.

The Laker Band also earned Best Visual and Best General Effect in Class C, recognizing the quality of the students visual performance and overall effectiveness. The band also placed third in the combined Class B and Class C standings. This historic performance is a testament to the dedication of every student in the program and the progress the Laker Band continues to make. Each member plays an important role in the ensemble's success, and this accomplishment reflects what can happen when a group of students commits to working together toward a shared goal.

Congratulations to the Danbury Laker Band! The band has set a new standard for the program and given the Danbury community another reason to be proud of its Lakers.

Biology class in action

Our biology class put photosynthesis to the test today with the Floating Leaf Disk Lab! By removing

oxygen from tiny leaf disks to make them sink, we were able to watch them float back to the top as they generated fresh oxygen under the lights.
