Immunization Requirements
All newly enrolled students must provide vaccination records or a written exemption to the school office or nurse. Required vaccines for kindergarten include: DTP, Polio, Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella.
Vaccines are available during our May 20 Vaccination & Free Physical Clinic (3-5pm in the Norton Center), through the Ottawa County Health Department (419-734-6800) and some local providers/pharmacies (age and insurance restrictions may apply).
Hearing & Vision Screenings
Basic screenings are provided at school for students in grades K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 to help identify potential learning barriers. These are not a substitute for a professional exam. If you have concerns, please seek a full evaluationโIโm happy to help connect you with providers or resources if needed.
Health Needs at School
If your child has medical needs such as medications, allergies, or treatments, please reach out. I will work with you and your childโs teacher to ensure they are safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Mobile Dental Clinic
A mobile dental clinic visits Danbury once or twice per year. Participation is optional. If your child already sees a dentist regularly, services may not be covered by insurance. Enrollment is available online, and consent remains on file for 12 months. https://mobiledentists.com/
๐Medication Reminders๐
Please pick up your childโs medication from the school nurse. For safety reasons, medications should not be sent to or from school with students. Any medications remaining after May 22, 2026 without prior arrangements will be disposed of.
To schedule pickup, contact Mrs. Allison Holzaepfel, MSN, RN at holzaepfela@danburyschools.org or by phone/text.
Looking Ahead to 2026โ27
Per school policy, all medications must be in their original container and accompanied by a signed guardian form. Prescription medications also require a physicianโs signature. Forms are available on the school website (RX and OTC)

Laker Families โ๐โ๏ธ
As we enter the final week of another outstanding school year, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, families, and community for the incredible support, partnership, and pride that make our district such a special place.
From our youngest PreK learners to the Class of 2026, this year has been filled with growth, achievement, and unforgettable memories. Our students have excelled in the classroom, on the stage, in the arts, through music and performances, in athletics and competitions, and in service and leadership throughout our schools and community. We have celebrated academic accomplishments, record-breaking performances, creative talents, meaningful milestones, and countless everyday moments that remind us what it means to be a Laker.
Most importantly, we have watched our students continue to grow into kind, resilient, hardworking young people who support one another and make us proud every single day.
Thank you to our families for trusting us with your children and for your continued encouragement and involvement throughout the year. Thank you to our community for always showing up to cheer on our students and support our schools. And thank you to our dedicated staff members whose passion, care, and commitment help create opportunities for students to learn, grow, and succeed.
As summer begins, I hope your family finds time to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories together. Enjoy every moment of this well-deserved break, celebrate all that was accomplished this year, and know that we are already excited for what lies ahead for our Lakers.
Thank you for being part of our Laker family. Have a safe, happy, and memorable summer โ and as always, Go Lakers!
Ms. Cari Buehler
Superintendent

We are excited to share that our 3rd grade students achieved a historic milestone with a 100% pass rate on the Ohio State Math Assessment โ setting a new school record! Our students earned an impressive average score of 771, well above the state average of 717.
This achievement reflects not only strong academic growth, but also the hard work our students have shown in building focus, self-control, and perseverance throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and growth!
To celebrate, all 3rd grade students will enjoy a Pizza Party on Wednesday, May 20th with Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Raybuck, and support staff. Thank you to our teachers, staff, and families for supporting our students every step of the way!
